Hal Cox Ranch ruins

Ruins of the Hal Cox Ranch, a stone’s throw south of US 70 and White Sands Missile Range’s Owen Road. The sign reads:

HAL COX RANCH

This windmill and corral were part of the Hal Cox ranching operation in the 1930′s and 40s. Hal Cox was a son of W.W. Cox who, in 1893, established the San Augustin Ranch at the base of the Organ Mountain Range. A prime part of the missle range now sits on what was once Cox family ranch land.

I think this is Drotten, but it could just as well be Sankt Lars. The two church ruins are next to each other.

Well, this is the most I can work with it, no matter how I try the images won’t look normal.

I’ve tried several times to stitch these old images together, and this is the closest I come – properly stitched, but at the price of the software ruining them for no reason I can see. I hate it.

What this is supposed to be is a panorama of my view from my bedroom window of 1210 Meadowlands, taken in 2002. It was taken with my Canon Snappy LX film camera, and it was likely taken in the spring.

My old friend Jahdel lived right across from me, and I’d had other friends in just about each and every other unit of 1208 across the courtyard there, at one point.

Originally the images looked just fine – until the useless software finally stitched them together properly but ruined them as well. Seen from unit 14.
